Teleconference may be defined as the live exchange and mass articulation of information among machines and persons remote from one another. The entities are linked by a telecommunication system, usually over the phone line.
In most cases, the telecommunications system is supporting the teleconference by providing one or more of the following video, audio, and/or data services by one or more means, such as telegraph, telephone, teletype, television, and radio.
Teleconferences are also referred to as teleseminars.
Alternative terms for teleconferencing include: telephone conferencing, audio conferencing and phone conferencing. |
